WHO ARE WE

Back in the Fall of 2012, two North Carolina outdoor enthusiasts, John Chambers and Rob Pavone, decided to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, but they did not just want to do the climb to fulfill some "bucket list" item off their life checklist, they wanted to create awareness for a great mission outreach program like ZOE.  The two regularly participate in mission trips beyond the borders of the United States and ZOE has always created interest amongst members of the team.  They created Trekkin' 4 ZOE to combine their love for the outdoors and their passion to serve others in need.  In 2013, they were assigned a Working Group (named Mwangaza (means "light") Liburu) made up of 107 children in the hilly Mukulu Location in the administrative region of Igembe Central District in Meru County, Kenya.

In September 2013, the Trekkin' Team of 5 not only summited Mt. Kilimanjaro, but also raised over $22,500 for their Working Group.  WRAL News Story

The Trekkin' Team now wants to do it again, this time expanding the types of outdoor activities in addition to just hiking, creating MORE events, recruiting MORE team members, and raising MORE funds for ZOE.
